We’ve had some excitement at West Suffield Congregational Church. On November 3 and 17, we welcomed a combined 10 new members to the congregation! Our new members bring diverse interests and skills to the congregation, as well as bringing four new kiddos into the church to remind us that our faith is alive, growing and transformational; that our children matter, because they are our future. You know when I see those bright, curious, shining faces around me every Sunday, it gives me hope, brings me joy, the congregation loves them; it’s just such a nice thing to have the sounds of children and worship. When they head down to Sunday school, it’s always a little quiet.

We also had our Bazaar this month. We had 17 soups, 30 baskets, decorations galore, and loads of fun. It was a tremendous amount of work, but worthwhile things always are.
We started our Confirmation class!

Of course, December is going to be busy too. We’ll have our Christmas pageant at the 10 o’clock service on December 15. There are plenty of costumes to go around and all children are welcome to participate. The pageant will be followed by a potluck dinner. We’re asking people to bring dishes from their Christmas traditions, as a way of getting to know each other better. It will be a tasty adventure.

Our Christmas Eve pageant on the 24th will be held at 5 o’clock. I can’t wait for the music, to sing all those carols that I grew up with. It just brings the Christmas season to life. Our choir is extraordinary. I hope you come and share in their joy.

As always, blessings on your day.
