Suffield by the River, an LCB Senior Living community located in Suffield, recently celebrated the 103rd birthday of their eldest resident, Fran Morway.
“Our beloved resident Fran turned 103 February 1. The dining room was filled with residents and associates to celebrate her milestone birthday. She wore a purple tiara and a sash that read ‘103 and Fabulous.’ Her one request was champagne. Fran attends all exercise programs twice daily and, weather permitting, walks the perimeter of our large community,” said Nancy Crommett, Resident Engagement Director at Suffield by the River.
Fran was born and raised on her family farm in Suffield, Connecticut, along with her five siblings. The farm was the family’s source of income, which came with challenges, but Fran says it was a good life with many happy memories.
Fran was honored last year at Suffield Academy where she attended high school, as she is the oldest living alum. She credits her long life to the home cooked meals her mother made her, as well as staying active.
