Students from Suffield’s two elementary schools, McAlister Intermediate School and Spaulding Elementary School, once again combined school spirit and service through their annual pre-Super Bowl donation drive. Partnering with Suffield Community Aid, students in grades PK-5 collected non-perishable food items and toiletries while casting their votes for their predicted winner of this year’s Super Bowl matchup between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
The drive took place during the week of February 2-6, 2026, building excitement across both schools as classrooms filled donation tables in friendly competition. Thanks to the generosity of Suffield families, hundreds of essential items were gathered and donated to support local families in our community. Spaulding collected 641 items and McAlister collected 482 items for a grand total of 1,123 food and self-care items.
Students eagerly participated, proudly placing their donations behind the team they believed would win the championship. The friendly rivalry brought energy and enthusiasm to the week while reinforcing an important message- teamwork, generosity and community matter every day.
The McAlister Student Council played an important role in organizing and promoting the initiative, demonstrating leadership and a strong commitment to giving back.
This annual tradition continues to be a highlight of the school year, fostering kindness, teamwork and school pride.
We are grateful to the families who contributed and proud of our students for stepping up to make a difference.
