First Church News

During July 2026, First Church will once again join our neighbors at Second Baptist Church, Suffield for combined Sunday worship services. Come enjoy fellowship with our friends and worship comfortably in their fully air-conditioned sanctuary! As we settle into the summer season, our two congregations will be sharing worship spaces to foster community, share resources and enjoy some wonderful fellowship together. First Church members are invited to attend combined Sunday services at 10 a.m. over at Second Baptist Church, located at 100 N. Main Street in Suffield.

Join your fellow church members and neighbors this August for a beloved local tradition of community worship services hosted at the historic First Baptist Church, located at 1217 Hill Street in Suffield. These services offer a beautiful opportunity to connect with the broader community, share in fellowship and enjoy the diverse, inspiring messages of ministers who will lead the congregation throughout the season. These traditional community services run every Sunday through the first Sunday of September. We warmly encourage you to experience this time of unity and spiritual reflection.

Beginning Wednesdays in August, join Pastor Chris in “S’more Wisdom with Pastor Chris” for a campfire style gathering of faith, fellowship and fun! Bring your questions, bring your marshmallows, bring your friends and take an opportunity to reflect and grow together. S’more Wisdom will be Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. through the month of August (no August 19 campfire). Meet Pastor Chris at Tom’s Bench, located near the Sanctuary entrance of First Church.

The Blessing Box, located right in front of First Church, is open to our neighbors and community members to “take what you need; leave what you can”. First Church encourages our community to donate shelf stable food and self-care items any time. Oft-needed items include powdered milk, just-add-water potatoes, microwaveable whole grain rice, whole grain pasta, sauces, peanut butter, cereals, and sweets! Deodorant, 3-in-1 body wash, toothpaste, and other basic hygiene items. Please refrain from donating perishable foods or expired foods.

First Church hosts Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous in our building weekly. Stay connected to meetings, upcoming news, events and more through the church website www.firstchurchsuffield.org.
