Art Show Slated in KML Library

The Suffield Arts Council will be busy this summer, hosting shows in the Pinney Gallery at the Kent Memorial Library.

July will feature the work of Springfield artist Joe Lanier. A well-respected local artist and member of the Tobacco Valley Artists Association, his work has been featured in area shows. His casual style and contemporary subjects are popular and prized by collectors.

A “Meet the Artist” reception is scheduled for Thursday evening, July 14, from 6-8 p.m. Masks must be worn and no refreshments will be offered.

The work of Westfield artist Richard Nowak will be shown during August. Another longtime member of the Tobacco Valley Artists Association, Richard works in acrylics and oils, producing vivid images of a variety of subjects. His work has been recognized as award-worthy and honored in several shows throughout the years.

Mr. Nowak does demonstrations of his work for area art groups, and at senior centers. He offers private lessons for both beginners and advanced artists at a studio in Westfield.

You may “Meet the Artist” at a reception scheduled for Thursday evening, August 11, from 6-8 p.m. Masks are required, and no refreshments may be served.

These exhibits are made possible through the joint efforts of the artists, The Suffield Arts Council, and the Kent Memorial Library staff.
