For over three years, two families in Suffield have participated in the redeemables business in a big way. The Turton family and the Nikolis family have achieved this with help from some friends who deliver their own collections and others who save them for pickup, including Suffield Pizza and Zantos, plus good cooperation at the Town Landfill. And all the income goes to the Jimmy Fund to fight cancer as part of the annual PMC Kids Ride in Suffield.

Chris Nikolis reports that he makes weekly runs down to the Connecticut Bottle & Can Return center on Pierson Lane in Windsor, where his bins can be dumped into machines that quickly identify and count the redeemables. Chris says it can amount to something like $100 a week.
