December 3, the Suffield Rotary honored two Suffield High School seniors at the Suffield Country Club.

Kameron Aldridge & Beatrice Williams

Congratulations to Rotary Student of the Month for December, Kameron Aldridge!

Social Studies Teacher, Miss Blais said, “Understanding the world, and your place in it, is truly important to knowing how to make changes. Kameron has taken this mantra seriously. She works hard to keep an even balance of school, organizations, work and extracurriculars. I have never seen a student be so interested in so many careers- but not afraid to explore and educate herself – in order to choose a path! As a high schooler, she is already taking college courses (not just AP classes) while maintaining steady grades, working (a solid number of hours each week) and participating in sports (swimming) and other organizations (Model UN, NHS, etc.). She loves interacting with others and is not afraid to participate in open discourse about challenges/changes. She is a natural leader, and although she may not know yet which field she wants to be in, she will do amazing things as a local, national and global citizen.”

Math Teacher, Mr. Janick said, “Kam always has a positive attitude and shows commitment to academic growth. She consistently leads by example, supports her peers, and contributes to a positive classroom environment. With 29 students in my class, she does a great job of standing out. Kam’s kindness, responsibility, and determination make her a deserving recipient of this award. Congratulations, Kam!”

Social Studies Teacher, Mr. Barile said, “Kam is a highly engaged and insightful student. She has a very welcoming, down-to-earth, and kind personality that brings a positive energy to the classroom. She’s well-deserving of this recognition!”

English Teacher, Mr. Kibby said, “Kam Aldridge is a thoughtful and charismatic leader. Her peers look to her for guidance and support almost every day. I noticed how kind she is when we had a new student come to the class from another state earlier in the year and she was one of the first students in the class to introduce herself and make a connection.”

Physical Education and Health Teacher, Mr. Drago said, “Kam has a positive attitude and is an active participant in class who encourages those around her to do their best.”

Congratulations to the Rotary Student of the Month for November, Beatrice Williams!

Special Education Teacher, Mrs. Grout said, “Bea is an exceptionally committed student whose academic dedication and leadership make her an outstanding representative of Suffield High School. She actively serves on multiple committees beyond the school community, demonstrating a deep passion for environmental preservation. As a student leader for the Youth Climate Summit, Bea consistently shows initiative, responsibility, and a strong commitment to serving the earth and inspiring others. She is an excellent candidate for Rotary Student of the Month.”

Career and Technical Education Teacher, Mrs. McCluskey said, “Bea Williams is an amazing role model! She is always curious and wants to learn. Bea is a leader in the classroom – always prepared and having additional questions about what we are studying. She works at a daycare after school and is creative and a positive role model for the children in her care. Bea naturally exudes responsibility, kindness, and humility. Bea has been involved with Sustainable Suffield while at SHS and has used her knowledge with the elementary school children, teaching about composting as well as ecology. Bea has expressed an interest in becoming a teacher. She is exactly the kind of person we need to enter the field of education in the future.”

English Teacher, Ms. Cerdeira said, “Bea Williams is a stellar student and community member. Not only does she strive for academic success, but she is also an environmental activist. These qualities not only showcase her hard work and time management skills, but they also highlight the positive impact that she wants to leave on Suffield High School and her larger community.”

School Counselor, Mr. St. Amand said, “Bea has excellent character and integrity! She is the type of person a friend might go to when in need. She is a self-starter, who is conscientious and cares about those around her.”

English Teacher, Ms. DeAngelis said, “Bea is thoughtful, kind, and passionate about what she cares about. Everyone knows her in the school for her environmental activism, but she is also a thoughtful student and kind collaborator who is active in class discussions. She’s constantly reflecting on her own work, but equally cares about the people around her, who are soothed by her calm presence and unflappable manner.”

Family and Consumer Science Teacher, Mrs. Haefner said, “Bea has been an instrumental part of our school community. She leads our composting initiative with quiet determination and a strong moral compass. Her generosity, kind heart, and thoughtful nature shine through in everything she does…from gifting sourdough to sharing ideas to helping others think through challenges. I feel so lucky to have had Bea as a student/student leader! She is one of a kind!”

English Teacher, Mr. Kibby said, “Bea Williams is considerate and conscientious of others and the world around her. Her passion for the environment and the world is a reflection of her kindness and care for her fellow peers. Bea is approachable and easy to talk to, and I believe she will make impactful changes on the world and those around her in her future because she is already doing so now!”

Way to go, Beatrice and Kameron!
