First Church welcomes all to join in weekly Sunday worship at 10 a.m., in-person or virtually through the church YouTube livestream, with the first Sunday of the new season officially kicking off on September 13. The congregation continues its spiritual journey under the leadership of Pastor Chris Hart, who brings faithful and fun engagement for all ages. As an Open and Affirming congregation, First Church extends an extravagant welcome to friends, neighbors and newcomers alike. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here at First Church of Christ.

The church is excited to have a presence at the annual Suffield on the Green Fair on September 12 and 13. Attendees are invited to visit the First Church booth to learn more about the active faith community, pick up delicious homemade treats at the bake sale and pose for fun pictures at the booth photo backdrop.
Music lovers and singers of all levels (high school age and above) are invited to share their talents as the Chancel Choir resumes its weekly rehearsals. Tune in to the church website calendar for the official rehearsal start date and time.
On Thursday, September 17, at 6 p.m., the Women’s Fellowship will host a creative stamped jewelry making workshop, offering a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, laughter and hands-on crafting. Limited spaces are available – sign-up in advance through the church office.
Saturday, September 26, First Church volunteers will participate in the Habitat for Humanity Faith Build Day. This hands-on mission project will be carried out in honor and loving memory of Dean and Virginia Caswell, continuing their legacy of service to neighbors in need.
September also marks the launch of “A Chorus of Generosity,” the annual giving campaign for First Church, which invites members and friends to pledge their financial support for vital church ministries.
The community outreach at First Church continues outside its doors through the Blessing Box, located directly in front of the building at 81 High Street. Open to all neighbors under the principle of “take what you need; leave what you can,” the church encourages the public to donate shelf-stable food and basic hygiene items at any time. Donors are kindly asked to refrain from leaving perishable or expired items.
First Church serves as a vital meeting space by hosting Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous groups in the building on a weekly basis. Neighbors and members can stay connected to these support meetings and autumn events by visiting the church website at www.firstchurchsuffield.org.
