National Night OutThis was the second year that the Suffield Police Department invited the Fire Department, the Volunteer Ambulance Association and the Public Works Department to roll out samples of their equipment and invite the public to join in this nationally observed event. With the addition of the Connecticut National Guard, visiting K-9 units, the Rotary free food booth, two bounce houses, and some other special features, plus that commercial helicopter offering rides again, it was a great evening and a great success in bringing everybody together.

Ariana Nikolis, 9, paints BE KIND on a blank signboard. SPD Officer Justin Fuller’s friend, Tara Konieczny, had discovered Operation Kindness, so she prepared 250 signboards and brought them, along with brushes and paint, for anyone to paint the words and take them home to spread the good advice.
