Halloween Costume Party
On Wednesday, October 19 at 10:15 am, children ages 2 – 5 are invited to show-off their Halloween costume at Kent Memorial Library. During the 45-minute Halloween Costume Party children will hear a Halloween story, play Halloween games, make Halloween crafts, decorate a pumpkin, munch on apples, donuts, and drink apple cider. Registration is limited.
Family Wreath Decorating Party
Families are invited to decorate a grapevine wreath on Saturday, November 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Second Baptist Church in Suffield. Adults and children, ages 5 and up, will assemble autumn and winter ornaments to attach to their holiday wreath. A bow-making demonstration will be presented. All wreaths and crafts will be provided by the Friends of Kent Memorial Library. This hour-long event is a great way for families to kick-off the holiday season! Registration is limited.
Time for Tots
Kent Memorial Library invites toddlers, 1-3 years old and a parent or caregiver to join us for an hour long program of stories, activities and play-time. This four-week series is being offered on Wednesdays and will begin on October 26 at 10:15 a.m. Registration is limited.
Baby Rhyme Time
Join us for Baby Rhyme Time, infants to age 2. We will run it on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. This program is in progress! Join us for books, songs, rhymes and fun! No registration required, just drop in.
Play Group
Play-Group is Fridays, 10am to noon. Want to meet other parents and kids? New to town? Want to get out of the heat and into some AC? Come to Play-Group, offered to care-givers and children, Friday mornings any time between 10 a.m. and noon. No age restrictions, no registration required — just drop in.
Practice Reading – To A Dog!
Young readers are invited to practice their reading with a dog from Allan’s Angels Certified Therapy Dog Team on Saturday, September 17 between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Working on your reading? Feeling a bit shy about reading? Want to show off your skills? Think it sounds like fun? Come read to a certified dog (you can bring a book or pick one out here). All dogs have been trained, tested and certified for therapy work. Individual reading sessions last 15 minutes and are at 10:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Come read to a furry friend!
