The conveniently located restaurant on North Main Street in Suffield Center has a new name and a new owner.

M&M’s Restaurant on North Main Street has changed owners, and with it came a name change. It is now Bissell’s Meeting House, a change reflective of its history.

George Shiel and Frank Demarinis are the new owners of Bissell’s Meeting House. George has a 25-year plus history in the restaurant business, and Frank was part of the renovation team on the original building and its expansion. I met with their restaurant manager, Brandie Returra, who said that patrons will find the menu and surroundings very much the same. There has been the occasional new “daily special,” such as a BBQ pork sandwich and a blackened chicken Caesar salad.

Brandie hinted at possible changes in seating and décor in the future but assured me that “the charm” will remain. She added, “As we learn, we’ll change.”

The new restaurant hours are: Monday 7 a.m.–2 p.m., Tuesdays CLOSED, Wednesday through Friday 7 a.m.–2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m.–1 p.m.
