Start your holiday season with a visit to the West Suffield Congregational Church on Saturday, November 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church will again be participating in the town wide event, Christmas in Suffield. You will be greeted with smiles, laughter, and the sound of Christmas carols.

As in past years, hand crafted Christmas and gift items will be for sale through SERRV, a non-profit, fair trade organization dedicated to lifting disadvantaged artisans, farmers and their families out of poverty. We will also have jewelry and Christmas items made by craftspeople from Haiti through the Apparent Project (apparentproject.org). All of the proceeds go back to the organization to pay the artisans. The goal of the Apparent Project is to offer Haitians the opportunity to “provide for themselves and their children, to be able to keep their families together, and to avoid relinquishing their children to orphanages.” We hope you see something you like, either for yourself or as a gift, as you support artisans and their families from around the world.

Try your luck at winning one of our beautifully decorated raffle baskets that would make a wonderful holiday gift for someone on your list. The church will also be offering vintage items as well as Christmas crafts for holiday giving or decorating. Be sure to visit our Bake Sale for tempting treats to enjoy while you shop or to bring home for later.

And don’t forget to join us for lunch. We will have a variety of mouthwatering homemade soups with freshly baked bread and butter. Be sure to come early as we often sell out of everyone’s favorites. And how about a generous slice of warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert?

Stop by the West Suffield Congregational Church at 1408 Mountain Road for warmth, hospitality, holiday shopping and the chance to help others. Hope to see everyone there!
