Father Mark Jette’s voice carried well, unamplified, for the Memorial Day service he offered at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, on Hill Street. About three dozen folks attended, many bringing folding chairs. Pictured above at distant center, Father Jette, pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, spoke about the meaning of the day, with special reference to the two young Suffield men who died in service during the ongoing conflict: Stephen Bixler and Dustin Doyan. Both of their families were represented at the service.
