Suffield has a new choice for dining out. Bar Fore Grill (www.barfore.com) at the Suffield Country Club is now open daily to the public, 11:30 a.m.to 9 p.m.
When talking to owner Phillip Chabot, manager Brendon Darna, and executive chef Matt Kneeland, the two words mentioned most often are “community” and “family.” The Chabot family brings extensive restaurant and event experience from their other Connecticut businesses, 19th At Blue Fox, The North House and Farmington Gardens to Suffield’s newest eatery.
The menu offers meals prepared with locally-sourced products. Residents may recognize Chef Matt as he also visits the Saturday Suffield Farmers Market to check what’s available for upcoming dishes. Incorporating local goods is a way to provide patrons with the freshest foods while supporting businesses that contribute to our community.
Private events, such as bridal showers and smaller wedding receptions, can be booked and catered. Special event menus will be offered, examples of which include Mother’s Day and game dinners. Of course, being right on the golf course, Bar Fore Grill will be available to cater golf events and tournaments.
Two rooms and the patio are open for customers with coronavirus guidelines being observed. Portions of the interior are in the final stages of remodeling and are expected to be completed soon, enabling service to more diners. Reservations are recommended, but not required, and takeout is available. To book a table, use OpenTable to submit an online request or call the restaurant directly at 860-668-7773.
