Golf Fundraiser

A short 2 p.m shower did not put a damper on the Suffield 350th committees’ October 11, 2019 golf fundraiser. Almost $3,000 was raised to help subsidize the cost of events, programs and projects celebrating our town’s October 2020 birthday. Photo by Kathy Werth

The weather on March 1, 2020 was perfect for Maple on Main! Many families came to the Phelps-Hatheway House on Sunday to see the boil and taste the sap and syrup. SHS Agriscience student Ashton Fenoff presented maple info and answered questions. Photo by Kathy Werth

Crowd Enjoys Brew Fest 350

Satinwood, a popular musical group based in Suffield, provided entertainment at the Beer Fest. Pictured are Paul Motter, guitar, Melanie Motter, keyboard, and Eric Roth, bass. Not pictured is Jeff Tisdale, guitar. Also performing that night were Suffield’s Ray Pioggia, who sang with his guitar, and Lou Sorrentino of East Windsor, who included a custom-written piece celebrating Suffield’s 350th. Etienne D’Otreppe and Eileen Moncrief of Suffield staff the buffet table of The Federal restaurant in Agawam, one of several providing delicious appetizers at the Brew Fest. Ken and Paula Pasco wait at the left as event chairman Caroline D’Otreppe places a name card in front of the chafing dish. She labeled this selection Pynchon’s Favorite, in memory of the Springfield entrepreneur who led the committee that founded Suffield.

Chilly Tree Gala

Visitors came out in 12-degree weather to enjoy the Tree Gala in the Phelps-Hatheway House Barn on five days in December, 2019. Several trees were sold for donations to Suffield Community Aid, and more than $1,000 was raised for Suffield’s 350th Anniversary celebration. Our thanks to everyone who donated a tree!
