The King House has an extensive collection of Suffield postcards donated by Lester Smith. American postcards were first in print around 1873. The “Golden Age of American postcards” peaked in 1910 but ended by 1915, although postcards are still sent from vacation destinations. Postcards were, at first, mostly printed by
Suffield’s town green waves proudly with 350 commemorative flags honoring the memory and dedication of those who have served and are serving our country and community.
We’re expecting an amazing firework show on Saturday night! To maintain social distancing, fireworks display company Pyrotechnico, recommended that the show be designed entirely around six-inch shells that are designed to explode 600 feet in the air.
It’s not the big parade we had been looking forward to, but we can still have fun while maintaining a social distance!

This 350th Anniversary of the establishment of Suffield was an opportunity to create an educational and inspirational film reflecting on events of the past and present and preparations for the future. A film company, Our Town Films of New Jersey, was hired to achieve this task with the help of members of Suffield’s 350th Committee.
