Kent Memorial Library staff is busy at work transitioning from our year of Virtual Programming to a hybrid selection of in person and continued virtual options. Thanks to Zoom we’ve been able to stay connected with our patrons despite the pandemic restrictions. As always, thanks to the Friends of Kent Memorial Library who support our programing.

April 15 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. “Books & Beyond” with Alka Joshi

Please join us for an interactive book discussion with New York Times bestselling author Alka Joshi on Thursday, April 15 @ 7pm via Zoom as part of our brand new “Books & Beyond” series.

April 29th at 7 p.m.on Zoom. Rick Woods – “The Functional Organizer – Clutter to Clarity.”

Rick Woods is a professional organizer, author, producer and host of a podcast radio show, and a monthly NBC-TV personality on a morning program in Western, Massachusetts, where he gives organizing tips and strategies to viewers. Please register online. And find books on organizing and more by searching our catalog on our website.

And don’t forget about our Book Concierge program! Go to our website, click on the form and staff will curate a stack of books for you to browse and return.

Have you registered for our 2021 Adult Reading Challenge? Find the list of monthly themes on our website and each month complete the challenge and fill out the challenge form. You will be entered into a monthly raffle for a $10 gift card.

April 6 at 3:30 p.m. Teen Library Council

This group meets to discuss books, programming and participate in fun activities. In person at KML starting in April.

April 13 at 3:30 Tinker Crate Club

TinkerCrateClub is for Suffield kids grades 5-9 and is hosted by our high school volunteer, Connor. Each month, members will meet to create a STEM project together. Email wmitzel@suffield-library.org for more information. Event is limited to five participants and held at KML starting in April.

April 20 at 7 p.m.Teen Digital Escape Room

Join SHS student Sarah to see if you can figure out her latest Digital Escape Room! Grades 6-12. We will send you a Zoom link that day, with extra instructions on how to use the Google Form of riddles and clues that participants need to answer correctly in order to advance and complete the activity . Anyone who registers and participates will get one ticket for a gift card raffle $25 to Target, or two extra prizes.

April 22 at 5 p.m.Teen Kahoot with Katy 

Grab a pizza and gather ’round the computer for this Family Style Trivia Night.

Don’t know how to use Kahoot, don’t worry, your kids do! If not, just go to the App store/website https://kahoot.com 

And we will give you a link to Zoom the day of the event. Win some great prizes!

April 28 at 4 p.m. NEW Dungeons&Dragons Club with Quinn

 If you’ve ever wanted to play Dungeons and Dragons but haven’t had the chance, or play all the time and want to pick up another game, this is for you! Led by Mr. Roberts and teen volunteer, Quinn.

 We will begin with a walk-through exploration of character creation for D&D, and discuss what makes fun characters… well…fun. The rest of the sessions will be dedicated to playing short games, with the goal of players eventually taking turns running the games themselves.

 So… if you’re looking for an opportunity to play D&D, and potentially gain experience DMing in a safe and fun environment, join us! For grades 6, 7, 8, 9.
