After a long winter, Suffield Parks and Recreation is excited to be offering a variety of programming for various ages this spring!  From tee ball to tennis, and e-sports to Lego, there is something fun for everyone. Register early as enrollment is limited. 

Tee Ball! 

Hit, Run, SCORE!

Tee Ball Clinics will be offered for Grades Kindergarten through 2 and will take place at the end of April. Children will use a stationary tee to hit a modified ball. This program focuses on the fundamentals and in a fun and non-competitive way. 

E-Sports

 Bringing the game toEveryone’s Life – Super Smash Bros. Tournament 

Join us for an in-person Super Smash Bros. Tournament on Monday, April 12 at the Suffield Middle School Gym. All COVID-19 protocols will be followed, and participants must wear a mask. Prizes for top finishers. Bring your full Nintendo Switch setup: console, game, controllers, and downloadable content (DLC). All tournament sets will be a best-of-three series. The format of the tournament depends on the number of entries. There is a single or double elimination possibility. 

Babysitter Training 

Let them step in when you need to step out! 

Babysitter Training for youth ages 11-17 will be offered April 16 at the Youth Center. This is an entry level course intended to teach age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages using team babysitting, mother’s helper and individual babysitting concepts. This program will offer preventive skills to help teach youth how to properly care for children. First Aid and CPR certification is also included in this program. 

Gotta catch ‘em all Pokemon Engineering using LEGO

On Thursday, April 8, youth in grades K-2 can join Ash and Pikachu as you build, capture, train and explore the vast world of Pokemon with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts.  Design your own Poké Balls, explore the Kanto region, and fly with Charizard.  Explore engineering through the fun world of Pokemon with the guidance of a Play-Well instructor.
