The Assessor’s Office would like to remind elderly and disabled homeowners that the filing period for the state and local benefit program will end on Friday, May 13.

Any current recipient of the benefit who has received a letter from the Assessor’s office must reapply no later than May 13 in order to continue to receive the benefit.

New applicants must also file an application by that date.

This year’s maximum income allowed is $38,100 if single and $46,400 if married.

Proof of income for 2021 is needed. Please bring all information to the Assessor’s Office. Income includes:

• Social Security Benefit Statement (1099 Form for 2021). This must be submitted, if you and/or your spouse receive Social Security benefits.

• Federal Income Tax Return (If you file).

• If you do not file an income tax return, bring statements of 2021 taxable income -including Taxable Pensions, IRA’s, Interest, Dividends, Wages etc.
