Members of Sacred Heart Parish will find many activities for Advent and the Christmas season that will keep the true religious meaning of Christmas for the month of December.

Lighting of the Christmas Tree

On Sunday December 4 at 6 p.m., there will be the lighting and blessing of the Christmas tree between the church and Father Ted Hall. There will also be the blessing of the creche (the manger scene).

Advent Reconciliation Service

On December 13 at 7 p.m. several priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Confessions will be held in English, Polish and Spanish.

Catholics Come Home for Christmas

From the first Sunday of Advent on November 26, members of the parish are asked to pray for friends and family members who no longer practice the Catholic faith. Before and after Mass, starting the first Sunday in Advent, members can write the initials of those they are praying for on silver stars to be put on the Christmas tree. Prayers will be offered during all masses during Advent for those whose initials are on the silver stars.

Family Conversations

Starting Monday, November 28 until January 9, there will be guided conversation for Advent that will focus on relationships with members of the Holy Family as well as those within regular families. If interested, please call the rectory at 860-668-4246.
