Congratulations to the Rotary Student of the Month for November, Maya Sadaria! According to Miss Blais, “Maya embodies the spirit of this acknowledgement. Her leadership in noteworthy organizations such as National Honor Society and Drama Club are an extension of her drive in the classroom. In class she is open-minded and accepting/respectful of all. Even when life, school work, and activities (ie the play/musical) get tough, she works her way through with an optimistic presence. She is hard working and puts attention to detail into everything she does, from group projects to being the stage manager every season of Drama. I, personally, couldn’t have done drama the past two years without her. She is a force to be reckoned with – and will do amazing things in the world!” In addition to being Vice President of the National Honor Society and Stage Manager of Drama Club, Maya is an active member of Interact Club and the World Language Honor Society. Moreover, she competes with the Math Team, serves as Class Secretary and is a Model UN Committee Chair. Since her ninth grade year, Maya has been recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction and received several awards for excellence in her AP Human Geography, Child Development, Film and Video, and Spanish classes. Her leadership has also earned her the George Eastman Young Leaders Award and Rotary Youth Leadership Award. After graduating from SHS, Maya plans to pursue a career in medicine.

Congratulations to the Rotary Student of the Month for December, Eva Adappoor! Miss Blais said, “Eva is one of the most consistent humans that I know. She has a peaceful, calm demeanor and a quiet leadership that makes younger students feel comfortable. She works very hard as the Crew Chief in Drama, directing individuals where to go and what to do. She collaborates with other leadership to ensure we have clear communication to the cast and crew. Eva is one of the hardest working seniors within SHS, balancing being an active member in other noteworthy organizations such as National Honor Society, Model United Nations and the International Thespian Society. On top of all of this, she has a heart of gold and is one of the kindest students that I have ever worked with.” Throughout high school, Eva has supported the community as a volunteer with Suffield Parks and Recreation, River Valley Animal Center and the Knights of Columbus. She has also dedicated many hours to building sets and being a Crew Chief for the Drama Club productions. She’s an active member of the National Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, Math Team and Class Council. In addition, she’s been a part of Morning Update (school video news) and the varsity tennis team. After graduating from SHS, Eva plans to pursue a career as a pharmacist.

Way to go, Eva and Maya!
