Connecticut Landmarks invites our friends and neighbors to come make a gorgeous holiday wreath to decorate their front door with us! Connecticut Landmarks’ Site Administrators will take participants through making their evergreen wreath step-by-step and share tips and tricks to make wreath making fun, fast, and easy from the comfort of home. The how-to video will be available on-demand to ensure that wreath-makers of all schedules can enjoy this timeless holiday tradition.

All the necessary supplies to make an evergreen wreath with a decorative bow will be available for pick-up at one of our participating sites. Wreath kit includes greens, a 12” wire wreath ring, wire, festive red bow, link to on-demand tutorial, and written instructions. In addition to the provided materials, a pair of gardening gloves and clippers are recommended for a more comfortable crafting experience. If participants wish to forage for pinecones, holly, and other natural materials from their yard or garden (or purchase additional decorations), the how-to video will cover how to add them to the completed wreath. Once assembled, wreath dimensions will be approximately 24” in diameter. A live Zoom session will be available by appointment for additional troubleshooting.

The cost is $45 per wreath kit, $35 for CTL Members. Registration is required at https://ctl-wreath-making.eventbrite.com by Sunday, November 15. Participants can select the pick-up time and location when placing their order from the following options.

Saturday, November 28, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden, 55 South Main Street, Suffield, CT 06078

For best results, greens should be assembled by December 11. Completed wreathes can be shared on social media by using the hashtag #CTLWreathMaking. The wreath with the most likes by Tuesday, December 15 at 12 p.m. will win a prize!
