It’s truly hard to believe another year is coming to a close! I thought it would be fun to share some of the highlights of 2018 at our Center:

We welcomed 207 new members.

Our Healthy Creations Cooking Demo series continues as a great success.

Exercise programs are the most popular activity (other than Bingo.)

We launched our very own Facebook page.

We welcomed the addition of Youth Services to our home.

Pickleball was added to our programs and is proving to be very popular.

We received a grant under the Federal Transit Administration to purchase a new wheelchair accessible bus.

We are participating in a collaborative grant award with nine other senior centers to offer Tai Ji Quan: Moving For Better Balance®. Our participation is through a partnership with CT Healthy Living Collective and is funded in part by the Older Americans Act through the North Central Area Agency on Aging.

We were awarded a program grant for the Aging Mastery Program® funded by the Anthem Foundation through CT Healthy Living Collective to begin in the spring of 2019.

We look forward to an exciting 2019! On behalf of the staff of the Suffield Senior Center & Mini Bus, may you and yours enjoy a joyous Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
