Jenna Woods

Congratulations to Jenna Woods, who was chosen to receive the ShopRite Kindness Award for March.

Jenna was nominated by Mrs. Margaret Kaplita who said, “In class, Jenna often poses questions and comments about the literature we read with a focus on what is good for people, how it is helping or hurting people (or the environment, animals, society as a whole, etc.). Jenna is very civic-minded.” Jenna is an active member of many clubs and activities in school and in the local community, such as Future Business Leaders of America, Interscholastic Equestrian Association, Connecticut Horse Show Association and Connecticut Hunter Jumper Association.

Jenna has earned many prestigious titles and recognitions, such as National Letterman for the US Equestrian Federation, Varsity Letter for Horseback Riding, Marshall and Sterling Equestrian Association, first in the state for children’s equitation, State Hunter Derby and High point junior rider in the state in all equitation divisions.

Mrs. Kaplita also wrote, “Jenna helps her trainer to coach the Connecticut college equestrian team. She regularly participates in various fundraisers sponsored by her teams to help the less fortunate in her community. In recognition of her efforts and actions focused on helping others, she well deserves the ShopRite Kindness Award.”
