On May 20, the Memorial Fund Committee of the Suffield Garden Club surprised three 2020 graduates of Suffield High School by arriving on their front lawns to present their annual awards. The recipients were Elizabeth Leighton, Sarah Lewandowski and Renée Tautic.
The awards are presented to students graduating from the Suffield Agriscience Program who exhibit outstanding abilities in horticulture, ecology and environmental sciences. Kathleen Horrigan, Kathy Remington and Jean Matejek from the Suffield Garden Club, along with Laura LaFlamme, who oversees the Agriscience Program at SHS, presented each student with a check in the amount of $1,000 towards their future studies and endeavors. They were also provided with a yard sign to celebrate their achievement. Congratulations Elizabeth, Sarah and Renée!
