The Bridge Street School demolition article in our March issue inadequately described what happened after the Town Meeting voted to appropriate funds and authorize bonding for the proposed community center. The article should have said that the Town administration determined that the cost would be greater than what had been voted although no opportunity was given to hire an architect and a construction manager at risk before that determination was made, and the proposal was not pursued by the Town administration in spite of protests by the project’s supporters.
