In April, Kent Memorial Library is continuing with its popular Books
& Beyond series. Susan Mihalic, author of her debut novel Dark
Horses, will be joining us on Thursday, April 21 at 7 p.m. via Zoom to
discuss her book. Dark Horses is a gripping and unflinching story of a teenage girl’s determined and courageous fight to reclaim her life from the man who controls her. With gorgeous descriptions of the bonds between animals and humans and searing observations on abuse, courage and resilience, this powerhouse of a novel will sweep you off your feet and leave you raw. Until recently, the library had limited hours. But no longer! It is open 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This fall was a busy time at the Kent Memorial Library. In addition to a steady stream of patrons, the library hosted thirty-three programs in October.
The Suffield Arts Council will present a wonderful display of fine art works by two of the area’s top artists. Viewers will enjoy a collection of paintings, created in a variety of media. Included will be landscapes, still lifes, portraits and florals,

Linda LastoffA graduate of Boston University, Linda taught art in public schools in Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut. She has given private lessons and held workshops in pastel painting and has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for her art.
