As part of Suffield’s America 250 celebration, the Suffield Tree Committee planted a native red oak on the lawn between Kent Memorial Library and the town’s Veterans Memorial this April.
Historic First Baptist Church is located on Hill Street at the west end of Russell Avenue. This church is known for its historic beginning as the first Baptist church in Hartford county. The church was formed by a small number of men, which was considered to be a very radical move for the day. People came from as far away as Hartford and Westfield to attend Sunday services. Second Baptist Church is the sister church of First Baptist.
The Suffield Historical Society will hold its annual Ice Cream Social on Tuesday evening, July 12, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

When Father Joseph Keough first came to Suffield in the summer of 1994, he served as a deacon at Sacred Heart Church with Father Ted Raczynski as his mentor and Father Stephen Sledesky as assistant pastor.
