In March of this year, when everyone went into lockdown because of the COVID pandemic, Dan Presser (a graduate of SHS) and his wife Beth, came up with Quarantine 2020 Productions, a creative and fun way to keep themselves and their two toddlers, Maddie and Barton, entertained and sane.

About two years ago, the 350th Committee decided to create a companion volume to Robert Alcorn’s The Biography of a Town, written for the Town’s 300th anniversary.

Bridge Street School Demolition

The town is taking steps to demolish Bridge Street School. In 2015, when the town approved at referendum to bond renovations to Bridge Street School and convert it to a community center, there were expectations that this would be accomplished.

As part of the town’s 350th anniversary celebration, Suffield Stories From Another Half-Century – 1970-2020 is be available to pre-order on the 350th website. This 370+ page book is a compilation of town history including narratives written by over 100 of the town’s residents.

Check out the new business located right over the Suffield line in Windsor Locks designed with the concept of social distancing in mind. Your Wellness Place at 2 Industrial Drive provides opportunities for yoga in a very large warehouse space that can accommodate up to 10 in a class with 12’ social distancing.

Suffield’s Farmers Market has been doing a thriving business this summer, in part because other markets have chosen not to open and also because people are looking for delicious and local fresh summer produce, which can be found in great variety at the Market.

EMT’s Discharge A Welcome Recovery

On July 1, John Ryan, an EMT with Suffield Ambulance, was released from hospital and rehabilitation care after 60 days battling COVID-19. An uphill battle, John’s recovery and homecoming were welcome events for many people.
