It’s almost that time again! The annual bird census for Suffield will take place from Saturday, April 26 through Sunday, May 18.
Looking back, I cannot fault my parents for at least trying to civilize us. This included family vacations.
If you own a farm, grew up on farms or worked on a farm in Suffield, we want your story.
Not too long ago at dusk, we met a group of Hartford Audubon Society birders to watch the crows come home to roost for the night. Our fearless leader had been observing the crows’ behavior for several weeks and instructed us to meet in Hartford at a school near Flatbush Ave.
According to amateur naturalist Mark Apgar, if you see bobcats in your backyard, don’t fear photographing them since they’re not aggressive animals.
Growing up, when December rolled around my mom would decorate our mantle with a woodland scene.
