On December 5, 6, and 7, Suffield High School’s Drama Club had the rare opportunity not only to be part of a play’s premier, but also to work with the play’s author and director, Carl Casinghino, one of SHS’s great teachers.
The Friends of the Library are sorry to announce that the February 1st book collection is cancelled because our storage space at 230c Mountain Road is full. We are so grateful for all of the wonderful donations that we have received thus far, and hope that those of you who planned to donate books will save them until we have additional storage space.

Mike Chase, Suffield native and author of the book How to Become a Federal Criminal: an Illustrated Handbook for the Aspiring Offender, spoke to an appreciative audience at Kent Memorial Library on Thursday, November 7. The talk was sponsored by Suffield Public Library Foundation as part of their yearly speaker’s event.
The Friends of Kent Memorial Library are pleased to report that we have had another successful book sale this year. Our proceeds from the three-day sale were over $15,500.
The Observer is still looking for worthy high school seniors interested in a $1,000 scholarship for college. Surely, there are parents and high school seniors out there who might find an extra $1,000 helpful toward college expenses.
The Suffield Observer Board of Directors will sponsor two scholarships to Suffield residents who will be entering an accredited two or four-year college in September. The two scholarships are in memory of Samuel S. Fuller, the founder of the paper, and Robert O. Y. Warren, a former chairman of the board.
