Pupils have been enrolled for the coming school year at the Suffield School up to its full capacity. Both dormitories are full, and also the chapel which will be turned into dormitories for the coming year. Lawrence Chamberlain of Kent avenue was seriously burned about the legs and body… at the gasoline filling station in Kent avenue, when he was standing near the gasoline tank of an automobile that was being filled from the pump and the tank overflowed, and some of the gasoline spattered onto his clothing. A few minutes later he lighted a cigarette and threw the match where the gasoline had flowed over the ground.
First Church is excited to be open again for in-person worship every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. All are welcome! At this time, we do request that everyone attending worship wear a mask and properly socially distance from one another when seating.
For the month of July, our “Books & Beyond” series continues with New York Times’ bestselling author Gabrielle Glaser. She will be joining us via Zoom on Thursday, July 15 at 7 p.m. to talk about her new book, American Baby: A Mother, A Child and the Shadow History of Adoption.

Suffield High School juniors, dressed beautifully for someplace like Chez Josef, enjoy a game of Cornhole Toss next to the big, four-pole tent set up for this year’s prom in the high school track infield. Pictured at sunset on May 22 amid lessening pandemic restrictions, the mask-less event, with no one present except members of the class and the school staff (plus three food trucks and the main caterer), was reported to have been enjoyed by all.

West Suffield Boy Scout Troop 66 helps the Suffield Garden Club (SGC) to continue to maintain the 109 dogwoods lining Main Street. Additional help by anyone interested is appreciated by the SGC.
