Ted Flanders, the Town’s Building Inspector, will be retiring after 27 years of service on July 5.
As the 192 graduating seniors made their way to the sports field for graduation ceremonies, you could sense their excitement.

Tigne and Bond was hired by the town to conduct a traffic and pedestrian safety study recently completed for the town. It recommends a number of improvements for local roads, including the realignment of intersections, installation of roundabouts, and the addition of stop signs, crosswalks, and crossing signals.
It’s been a long time since the town has had the opportunity to meet, greet and have fun together.
In 2018, I wrote an editorial for the Observer related to gun violence.
According to the Connecticut Transportation Safety Research Center, 2022 “could become one of the more deadly years for pedestrians in the state, continuing a troubling trend.”
The Suffield Observer Board of Directors will sponsor two scholarships to Suffield residents who will be entering an accredited two or four-year college in September 2022.
