On July 1, John Ryan, an EMT with Suffield Ambulance, was released from hospital and rehabilitation care after 60 days battling COVID-19. An uphill battle, John’s recovery and homecoming were welcome events for many people.

As part of the town’s 350th anniversary celebration, Suffield Stories From Another Half-Century – 1970-2020 will be available to pre-order on the 350th website starting June 30. This 370+ page book is a compilation of town history including narratives written by over 100 of the town’s residents.
During the last week in May and first week in June, the teachers at Suffield Cooperative Preschool made some special visits bringing graduation caps, diplomas and gifts to send off their 15 students, who will be moving on to kindergarten next year.
Because most of this year’s Suffield High School graduation events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus, Safe Grad still wanted to show that they cared.
During one of our explorations during the past few weeks, my husband, Mel, and I discovered this delightfully beautiful State Conservation land in West Suffield off Babbs Road, just down from the entrance to Babb’s Beach.
For the past year, the 350th Anniversary Committee has been compiling a book of histories from Suffield’s past 50 years. Over 100 submissions from Suffield citizens are included in the 360+ page book, divided into six chapters – Town History, Farms, Community Services and Resources, Churches, Education and Memories.
The Friends of KML book collection, normally held the first Saturday of each month, will be put on hold until the library is open. Save your books.
