My recent Coronavirus Update stated: “Suffield is at a crossroads. We must double-down on our efforts and work in partnership with our neighbors to flatten the curve of this new, arguably more dire, wave of the pandemic.”
Last month, I noted the enormous sacrifice made by our veterans to protect our right to vote. This month, I pay tribute to the courageous heroines who fought for that very right for women.
On Memorial Day, we rightfully acknowledge the humbling sacrifice made by our bravest Americans to ensure our freedoms. Chief among these freedoms, the right to vote.
A big SHOUT-OUT to our emergency responders – especially the Highway Department – for extraordinary efforts during Tropical Storm Isaias to reopen roads and aid in restoring power. For seven days straight, they got the job done. Thank you!

After recent difficult months, I am delighted to share great news! The Town Hall project will break ground in July, at a total cost of $5.116M.

At The Suffield Observer press deadline, the Town of Suffield, Permanent Building Commission and our construction partners were busy at work ironing out the final details for the Town Hall renovation.
Happy New Year Suffield! To-date, the Town is one month into 2020 with one Town Meeting and referendum already completed, and departments and the schools knee-deep in budget season.

I find it helpful every election cycle to reflect on the prior year and ask, why am I doing this job and what do I want to accomplish? The answer is always simple – to improve Suffield’s governance practices as best I can. The task, however, has not been so simple. When first elected in 2015, I quickly learned that the issues that prompted my involvement were just the tip of the iceberg. I underestimated the work to be done and how unpleasant it could be at times.
