Spring Hiking Workshop at Sunrise Park Brought On the Smiles! Photo by Donna Carney-Bastrzycki Photo-Hike Workshop participants enjoying their hike. It was a beautiful, sunny, warm and spring-like Sunday for our St. Patrick’s Day weekend family collaborative hike and workshop with Mat Jobin, owner of Reach Your Summit and the Town of Suffield Parks and Recreation Department, volunteer-Stephan Bastrzycki and Sue Mayne of The Trees for Suffield Initiative. We had a terrific turnout and important Leave No Trace Principles, hiking safety, the ten hiking essentials and trip planning were all presented during the first part of the workshop and then the group enjoyed the beauty of Sunrise Park for the hiking portion.

Did you know that the Suffield Gross Grand List consists of over $2 Billion in assessed value? The exact figure is $2,115,293,404 for the 2022 Grand List effective 10/1/2022. The Gross Grand List is reduced by property tax exemptions authorized by Connecticut General Statutes and administered by the Assessor’s Office to arrive at the Net Taxable Grand List. Property tax exemptions of $531,770,690 have been allowed for the 2022 Grand List. Examples of exemptions include: property owned by the State, the Town, certain religious, and charitable organizations, and eligible manufacturing equipment.
