Sad to say, the annual Ice Cream Social, sponsored by the Suffield Historical Society, will not be held in July at the King House Museum as scheduled. Depending on events, it may possibly be rescheduled in September.
COVID-19 Help & Resources Available: Staff has been working inside our locked door since the pandemic began. We have used the time to familiarize ourselves with programs and resources to help our residents who have been impacted by COVID-19.
The bad news: due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the physical Cancer Survivorship 101 conference usually held in June, had to be cancelled. The good news: All of the scheduled speakers have agreed to present remotely through a Zoom format.
Last month, Suffield non-profit, Partnering to Reach Aspirations, hosted a presentation by John Elder Robison, author of Look Me in the Eye, as part of the group’s Speaker Series, Understanding Young Adults with Aspergers/ASD.
It is with a sad heart that we are canceling the 50th Suffield on the Green and Craft Fair for 2020. Celebrating the 50th event will happen in 2021.
During the coronavirus quarantine the operations of the Suffield Rotary, like every other business and organization, could not be business as usual. For example, it had to forego the camaraderie shared at weekly dinner meetings and settle for periodic Zoom meetings.
Suffield on the Green and Craft Fair is proceeding as planned at this time. The event takes place on the Town Greens in the center of town the weekend after Labor Day.
Suffield’s Farmers Market begins its 2020 summer season on Saturday, June 20th as a special “essential services edition” following the guidelines of the Connecticut Department of Agriculture for this COVID-19 time we are in.
