Academy Hall, in West Suffield center, is open April through November for rentals. Built in 1855 as the Center District schoolhouse, it is an ideal spot to host a party or reception, with large rooms and a full kitchen. It is run by volunteer members of the West Suffield Village Improvement Association, and all proceeds are used to maintain the building. Our rates are very reasonable. Visit our web site WestSuffieldvia.org for photos and information.
Although it may not be widely recognized, Suffield has a vibrant arts community. This summer, that community will have the opportunity to flourish and come together through the Suffield Arts Festival. On July 14, local artists will convene at Bruce Park for a day full of performances and activities, all while honoring the themes of unity, peace, love, and hope. The Festival will begin at 2 p.m., and will be held outdoors. Songs, dances, plays, comedy and more will keep you entertained all throughout the day!
The Suffield Foundation for Excellent Schools will hold its first annual “Family Fun Day” on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Copper Hill Golf Club located at 20 Copper Hill Drive, East Granby. Spend one of the last few days before school starts enjoying activities geared to all ages. For the serious golfers, there will be nine holes of classic golf; for those age eight and above without clubs but having two feet, there will be the challenge of nine holes of foot golf, a fun sport that combines golf and soccer and involves kicking a soccer ball into a 21” cup on the golf course. In addition, there will be a barbecue buffet, bounce houses, face painting, a dunk tank, a tea cup raffle, and crafts centering around the theme of our March 2019 gala “Fire and Ice” to make and take home. For those unfamiliar with the SFES, there will be an exhibit showing some of the grants and programs that the educational foundation has funded.
