VFW Post Reopens

We are approaching the one year mark since COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, closures and restrictions began. The Landry-Sic VFW Post 9544 canteen closed its doors in mid-March 2020 with the hope to re-open sooner rather than later.

New Senior Minister Named at First Church of Christ

The First Congregational Church of Suffield is joyfully welcoming its new senior minister, the Reverend Diann Bailey. Fortunately, Reverend Bailey is not a “newbie” as a church leader in a time of crisis; she has been the associate minister at the church since 2014, and before that at the Congregational Church in Granby.

Happenings at First Church of Christ

Due to COVID-19 all In-Church events and gatherings, including Worship, have been moved online. Our Online Worship services include prayers, scripture, sermon and a variety of music through our YouTube page.

SVAA: They Are Here for Us

The COVID-19 virus is pushing many volunteer ambulances to the brink: some have ceased operations because of lack of funds and volunteers. Fortunately for our town, the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Service is financially healthy with plenty of supplies and volunteers.

What’s Your Story?

This past Veterans’ Day, Suffield resident Fritz King, a retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant and a member of the Suffield VFW Post 9544, was amazed to learn that there are approximately 600 veterans in Suffield. Many interesting conversations with veterans took place that day and started the wheels spinning.

Crossroads Food Pantry

Tucked away at the corner of North Grand Street and Mountain Road sits the Crossroads Food Pantry. Established in 2012 and housed at the West Suffield Congregational Church, the pantry was set out to address hunger in the community.
