You don’t have to be a Suffield Garden Club member to enjoy gardening at Phelps-Hatheway.
About two months ago, Club members potted almost 30 different varieties of amaryllis and one by one they’ve begun to bloom in our homes and on our website. Our “Amazing Amaryllis” project was a result of looking for ways for members to have fun together in the time of COVID-19.
I think it is safe to say that Field of Flags has been a great success. 315 of the 350 flags were sponsored and tagged, honoring both individuals and groups.
Acknowledge the many who are loved and lost, but never forgotten in this first annual event run this year by the Suffield 350 Committee.
This year more than ever people are getting out and enjoying their yards. For Garden Club members, the whole town is our yard – from the gardens at Phelps-Hatheway House and the dogwoods on Main Street to the Civil War Soldiers Monument, and from the South Main Street island to the Suffield gateway signs bordering Southwick, Agawam and Enfield.
