Annually, The National Council of Teachers of English awards the Media Literacy Award to an individual, team of educators, or department that has implemented and refined exemplary media literacy practices in their school environment.
About 150 compassionate folks gathered on August 28 by the Suffield Country Club pool on a lovely summer Sunday morning to honor Kyla Pokorney and support her work with an organization called “Vie for the Kids.”

The Suffield Woman’s Club presented Citizens Restoring Congamond with a check for ten thousand dollars for the use in the Babb’s Beach Project.
The Suffield Local Prevention Council continues to work toward promoting substance abuse prevention and early intervention within the Suffield community, and to provide a forum bringing together multiple community disciplines.
The Fashion Show for Hunger, held at St. Robert’s Hall in Windsor Locks in June, raised $15,000.
