The big old house at Boston Neck bridge, which has been called Brookside for over a century, has recently become the home of some assorted, spooky creatures who stepped out on the front stoop for Halloween.
For a special tribute honoring those who serve our country, a new, dedicated group is inviting folks to come to Suffield High School on Veterans’ Day and share their concern about an American tragedy.
There will be a Veterans’ Day Ceremony at the Suffield Veterans’ Memorial on November 11 at 11 a.m. honoring those military who have served our country.
Like many people in Suffield, I would like to have a nice community center, but not now. I say this for two good reasons.
I am a freelance photojournalist and served on official committees studying the disposition of the former Bridge Street School Building and property beginning in 2005.
Plans for the reuse of the former Bridge St. School building started with committees and studies in 2005. Careful deliberations, community forums, and ongoing public updates have occurred continuously in the intervening 12 years.
Road work on Thrall Avenue will include reconstruction of 0.15 miles of the 1.5 mile road, milling and paving of the remaining mile, along with a number of drainage improvements.
The flag isn’t owned by our military. It doesn’t symbolize our military. It symbolizes the concepts of freedom, liberty and justice for all people.
November is upon us and with it comes thoughts of upcoming holidays. For us of the baby-boom generation, one of the most special was one called Armistice Day – not a day full of shining ornaments or brightly colored wrapped gifts, but a very special day indeed.
