It was a beautiful, sunny, warm and spring-like Sunday for our St. Patrick’s Day weekend family collaborative hike and workshop with Mat Jobin, owner of Reach Your Summit and the Town of Suffield Parks and Recreation Department, volunteer-Stephan Bastrzycki and Sue Mayne of The Trees for Suffield Initiative. We had a terrific turnout and important Leave No Trace Principles, hiking safety, the ten hiking essentials and trip planning were all presented during the first part of the workshop and then the group enjoyed the beauty of Sunrise Park for the hiking portion.
The Observer is looking for worthy high school students interested in a $1,000 college scholarship.
