Suffield has another great addition to the already wonderful businesses we have in our town. A gift store called Broadleaf Gift opened in September.
One of the events celebrating the 350th Anniversary of Suffield included aspiring artists painting mini barn quilts at A Stroke of Color, a gallery/studio at the Masonic Lodge on Bridge Street.
Starting on September 30, a series of programs titled SCAMS (Seniors, Children, Adults Maintaining Safety) are being presented to help better identify and understand how to avoid becoming a target of cyber security scams.
The Perseids Meteor Shower will peak on the night of Aug 11 (approximately 11p.m.) until about an hour before dawn on August 12.
Since 1940, the Suffield Garden Club (SGC) has been planting dogwood trees along Main Street; there are currently 109 trees. For years the SGC was fortunate to have the town help spread the mulch, but due to budget cuts the SGC has had to include that in their responsibility of caring for the dogwood trees.
Animal Control Officer (ACO) Paul Selig was presented with the 2020 Paul A. Deneault/Theresa Foss Memorial Animal Control Officer of the Year Award on February 4 at the Suffield Police Station. The award is usually presented at the annual conference in September, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, it was cancelled.
Julie Harrison, aka Julie the Garden Fairy, presented “From Our Gardens”, an Organic and Natural Style of Floral Arrangements Workshop on September 24, held at the Phelps-Hatheway House on Main Street in the Barn.
