There are several different varieties of basil that one can plant. I always plant seeds but plants are also available.
Importance of friable soil: Crumbly, friable soil permits roots and other underground plant parts to thrive.
Here are some friendly tips and pastimes for a February To-do List:
Small lawns can be dethatched using a specialized, hand-held dethatching rake or an iron rake. Or, use a dethatcher that attaches to a sit-down mower (see photo in Part 1 of 2).
As time marches on, bits and pieces of grass and weeds die and collect just above the soil. This is called thatch.

Taraxacum is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, which consists of species commonly known as dandelions. They are native to Eurasia and North America, but the two commonplace species worldwide, T. officinale and T. erythrospermum, were introduced from Europe and now propagate as wildflowers.
