As our state and country reopens we are delighted to let our readers and advertisers know that while this June edition will only be available online, we plan to begin printing again with a July (and a special August edition) delivered to the mailboxes of all Suffield residents.
There are several different varieties of basil that one can plant. I always plant seeds but plants are also available.
We are currently recruiting monthly Editors. Being an editor is a perfect way to contribute to the Suffield community and have a meaningful one-time involvement with the production of the paper.
This year’s Poker Night season came to an abrupt end with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the season being cut short, $1,265 was raised and given to Suffield Community Aid to help veterans in need.
Once again, the pandemic precludes production of a printed edition for June 1. But we are making plans, and hope to resume printing, beginning with July and August editions.
The local soup kitchen continues to provide nourishment to hungry citizens during time of increased need.
Suffield on the Green and Craft Fair is proceeding as planned at this time. The event takes place on the Town Greens in the center of town the weekend after Labor Day.
Suffield’s Farmers Market begins its 2020 summer season on Saturday, June 20th as a special “essential services edition” following the guidelines of the Connecticut Department of Agriculture for this COVID-19 time we are in.
