Picture this: A gaggle of giggling children are racing around under sunny skies as they enjoy a variety of fun activities and games. That sounds pretty wonderful anytime, but perhaps it’s an exceptionally appealing image during this time of social distancing.
It can be said that what is truly valuable only comes into focus during times of crisis. This is especially true of Suffield Community Aid (SCA) – your local safety net – and the Town of Suffield’s chosen partner to deliver vital resources.
Suffield has a new community participation opportunity for residents to remain engaged while still practicing social distancing. In 2019, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving established $100,000 community funds for each of the 29 towns in the Foundation’s region, which includes the town of Suffield.
As a thank you to the first responders of Suffield who aid residents who have been affected with COVID-19, the Rotary Club is providing $1500 donation for meals, snacks and beverages while responders are on the front-line of this epidemic.
Times have gotten hard for everyone, and Enfield Loaves & Fishes announced that it has seen an unprecedented demand for meals amid the coronavirus pandemic and the economic shutdown that has accompanied it.
Now, more than ever, we need nature. Spending time outdoors can help to reduce stress and anxiety, and increases positive feelings.

The West Suffield Village Improvement Association will hold its annual tag sale Saturday, April 4 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Academy Hall, 1499 Mountain Road. Donations may be dropped off the mornings of March 28, April 2 and 3.
Following the annual tag sale on April 4, the West Suffield Village Improvement Association will open Academy Hall for rental as usual. The Hall can accommodate small groups of up to 50 in our downstairs space or larger groups up to 100 upstairs.
