Athletic Hall of Fame Seeking Board Members

The Suffield Athletic Hall Of Fame honors both individual and team athletic excellence, and since its inception in 2001, it has recognized the athletic achievements of 64 individuals and 9 teams from Suffield. The accomplishments and credentials of the honorees are exceptional, and their stories and accolades are impressively on display in the main hallway at Suffield High School. In order to continue the important function of this organization, new members are periodically invited to join. Therefore, at this time we are seeking three to five new members who would be interested in contributing to this important civic organization and continuing with tradition of recognizing athletic excellence and accomplishments in Suffield. The only requirement for membership is an interest in the goal of this organization: to recognize individuals and teams who have demonstrated athletic excellence or made significant contributions to athletics in Suffield.

Summertime Blues

According to the knowledgeable experts at Birds & Blooms, in a 2015 poll more than one-third of people surveyed around the world chose blue flowers as their favorite. Yellows, pinks and oranges bloom everywhere you look, but regal blue blossoms aren’t quite so prevalent. To me, that makes summertime blues all the more special. Blues look spectacular when paired with pink or yellow blooms. For real color punch, add orange. You will find orange across from blue on the color wheel, creating a complementary relationship.

Polish Heritage Society Meeting

Signed by political and cultural leaders as well as more than five million school students and their teachers, this document conveys Poland’s appreciation for U.S. support during their fight for independence.

KML Features Springfield Photographer’s Spring Collection

The Suffield Arts Council is proud to present a fantastic display of photographs by Bill Ferro, a Springfield resident, formerly of New York City. Introduced at an early age to photography by his uncle, Bill dabbled in the field for many years while traveling the country. Since moving to Western Massachusetts many years ago, Bill has been photographing the coast from Maine to Florida. The Pinney Gallery of Suffield’s Kent Memorial Library will feature many examples of his portfolio, which includes vivid images of seascapes, wildlife, florals, and landscapes. Excited by the capabilities of new technology, Bill entered the digital field, and produces his photos on gallery wrapped stretch canvas and metal plates.
