The John Sullivan & Son Tobacco Farm was started by my grandfather, John L. Sullivan.
This month, I write as interim President of the Suffield Historical Society, rather than as Chair of the Property Committee.

I know a woman who hasn’t had the best luck with guys. A self-described country girl, she’s a full-time student and works as many hours as she can to pay the bills. She doesn’t have a lot of time to hit the dating scene, but fortunately there’s an app for that! She sifts from the pool of eligible bachelors on her phone, swiping from one photo to the next, until she finds a match. It hasn’t been working out too well.
Our annual Tree Lighting event, “Suffield Alight!”, has become a beloved community tradition since 2020, filled with music, lights, community spirit and festive activities that truly capture the magic of the season.

First Church welcomes all to join in weekly Sunday worship at 10:00 am., in-person or virtually through the church YouTube livestream, continuing on the journey “Together for Joy!”
On January 1, 2026, First Church Suffield welcomed Interim Minister Christopher Hart to Suffield.
The Suffield Observer Board of Directors will sponsor a scholarship to Suffield residents who will be entering an accredited two or four-year college in September 2026.
Hastings Farm, the Connecticut Milk Promotion Board and the Connecticut Department of Agriculture invited members of the media to a special National Milk Day farm tour and milk toast at Hastings Farm in Suffield, Connecticut.
Happy New Year to our Suffield Community from your Suffield Greater Together Community Fund. To reintroduce ourselves, we are a program at the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation (formerly the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving).
This year all 50 states, and almost 20,000 cities, towns and villages commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, and Suffield is no exception!
