There was a lot of excitement at Spaulding School on Friday morning, June 15. The students, K-2, had made congratulatory signs for the seniors who came to participate in the second annual Senior Walk through the halls of Spaulding School where most of the seniors had started their education. The seniors walked from the high school across Bruce Park and were greeted first by inspirational signs placed strategically along their path. As they entered Spaulding School, the seniors were welcomed by enthusiastic children as they walked down the hallways. Spaulding students and teachers stood, waving handmade signs, while Pomp and Circumstance played on the PA system.
Suffield Academy’s 185th Commencement was on May 25. The event took place on Bell Hill with the beautiful and nearly complete Memorial Building Academic Center as a backdrop.
Ziad Hassan from Suffield High School was selected as one of 22 of Connecticut’s top juniors designated as Governor’s Scholars.
On Tuesday, June 12, at 7 p.m., many examples of student work were shown to appreciative attendees at the 18th Annual Suffield Film and Video Festival in the Suffield High School Auditorium.
The Best Buddies Club at Suffield High School is dedicated to ending the stigma and isolation of the intellectually and developmentally disabled population.

Congratulations to Joseph LaValla, who was chosen as the Rotary Student of the Month for April. Joseph is currently a senior at Suffield High School and has been very active through his four years here at Suffield High School. Joseph has been on our cross-country and indoor/outdoor track team for the past four years. This year he was chosen as the captain of the team for indoor and outdoor track. Joseph has maintained honors or high honors every quarter throughout his high school years.
