McAlister Intermediate School, for a number of years, has devoted a spring day to immersing the entire fifth grade in the Civil War, with widely-recognized success.
Last summer, the Suffield Board of Education approved the pilot of a Suffield Middle School softball team, with the full support of Johanne Presser, SHS varsity softball coach, Damon Pearce, SMS principal and Michael Bosworth, Athletic Director.

On June 3, the Connecticut State FFA Convention was again held at Suffield High School. The convention was hosted by the Suffield FFA chapter, based in the Suffield Regional Agriscience Center.
